Open the survey that will shape the report “ economic impact of open data 2020 ”

The pan-european data Portal (European Data Portal – FTE) has launched a campaign to collect views through a questionnaire that will feed into one of its work in the study “ 2020: Economic impact of open data 2020 ”.

From 2015, European Data Portal (FTE) (Opens in new window) it is the initiative of the European Commission (Opens in new window) to increase the impact of open data.

The opening of data on the public Sector is essential to the establishment of new services, stimulating innovation, as well as to enhance the efficiency of the administrations and to support decision-making informed. In order to better understand the impact of policies of open, it is necessary to conduct a survey of its projection in industry and the economy, so at european and national level are carried out field studies of the business sector.

At european level, by 2015 was published the first report " Creation of value through open database (Opens in new window) ", showing the potential of open data and its impact on the eu and the value for companies selected (Opens in new window) . The resulting document after this new data collection (Opens in new window) shall monitor, will build upon and expand, in turn, the report by 2015. The questionnaire is designed to eliminate the use of open data in enterprises and, with its findings and conclusions, will be fashioned much of the report “ Economic impact of open data 2020 ”.

At the beginning of 2020, the EDP issued the second iteration of the report.
