MARRAKECH publishes the policy of open source software 10 european countries

The task OSOR has published reports of 10 european countries, including spain, on its policies of open source software.

During recent months, the task OSOR(Abre en nueva ventana) ( Open Source Observatory ) has conducted research in all countries of the european union in order to compile information on the situation of each member country with regard to its policies of open source software.

The result of this work are these reports (Opens in new window) focusing on public sector, which aim to provide an overview of the policies and initiatives of open source software in each country.

The task OSOR it has also been in contact with more than 40 people working in a number of governments, local authorities and associations, which is contributing its expertise to enrich the reports.

The content of reports

In each report, it will have an overview of government actors, strategic actors in the political and legal framework, and initiatives in the public sector connected with open source software. If you want to take a look at the highlights of each country, the reports also complemented by a fact sheet of a page (Opens in new window) . Both documents can be downloaded and reused (authorized under the CC BY 4.0).

Once issued all the country reports, the OSOR team will conduct a comprehensive study in the form of a comparative analysis, giving a comprehensive overview of trends observable, the various strengths of open source software policies across the european Union.

The team of MARRAKECH is open to any initiative or information of member countries.
