The European Health Card is used in a epSOS pilot project, cofinanced by the european commission, which is aimed at the development of cross-border services of health to improve the quality and safety of health care of citizens travelling to another country europeo. epSOS can make a significant contribution to the patient's security by reducing the frequency of medical errors and to provide quick access to documentation. In emergency situations, this documentation is provided to the medical personnel with the information that saves lives and reduces repetition (sometimes does not lack) of the diagnostic procedures.
