Report of maturity of the Open Data in europe 2021

The report of maturity of the Open Data in europe is prepared annually by the European Portal of data from 2015. This report evaluates the level of maturity in open database of the eu member states, together with the countries belonging to the EFTA COUNTRIES (Iceland, Liechtenstein, norway and Switzerland) and the united Kingdom, which helps them identify possible areas for improvement to facilitate their comparison with other countries.

In 2021, spain is positioned in the third place on the ranking global, holding at the group of Trend-Setters (trend-setting).

Within this dimension of “ impact ” highlights the Initiative Provides , a national strategy of open data which coordinates an annual survey of domestically produced with the aim of asking the national and regional public bodies, as well as local institutions, on the monitoring of the use of data. The survey results serve to confirm the responses of the annual survey Open Data Maturity data.europa.eu ’ s.

The Report also stresses the publication of the report “Datos abiertos e inteligencia artificial, herramientas para la igualdad de género ”, which explains the concept of gender equality under the influence of new technologies in our society and policies. A team of women journalists coordinates a volume of interviews in 10 women with extensive experience and knowledge on two key elements in the future: awareness of the importance and potential of open, and public policies designed to operate with a representative of the information society as a whole, and not only 50%.

On the size of “ political ” the report highlights the use of a model governance hybrid data by the spanish government . The coordination of initiatives of different data at the ministerial level and global levels, develop through sectoral groups. Similarly, the government is proactive to requests by local stakeholders and events organized by organizations closely linked to citizenship, as the association of companies infomediarias (ASEDIE).

In the dimension “ Portal ”, the report highlights the example of spain to provide a detailed description of the requests, responses and user states. The national portal provides a general description of the incoming request, organized by category and status of the request. Users can monitor data requests from other users, and these requests are allocated to the public agency responsible for publishing this data set. This agency will respond to the request and update their state, all this is visible to the user.
