The 14th edition of Global Innovation index provides new data and analysis on the status of the global innovation and allows readers and policymakers to compare the performance of the ecosystem of innovation of more than 130 economies. The latest edition gives Spain a score of 45.4 points and the 30th position of the 132 countries analysed the nineteenth between european countries.
The Contents analyses 7 pillars: Institutions, Human Capital and research, infrastructure, sophistication of the market, sophistication of the business, knowledge and technology outcomes and results creative. Spain is located in all the pillars, except Sophistication of the business, in the quartile of better actors (between 1 and 33), stressing especially Infrastructure, where ranked 13th.
Inside the block of infrastructure, spain ranks in 19 Information and communication technologies (ICT) with a score of 85.3, showing its strength in the use of ICT and electronic administration , which ranks 17. This section discusses the ict access and online participation of citizens.
