E-SENS project (european e-Services simple and interconnected)

The implementation of the mechanisms of interoperability to realize the digital single market in europe.

The project e-SENS is a joint initiative of more than 100 institutions belonging to 20 european countries that responded to the convening of the year 2012 for the competitiveness and innovation programme of the european commission. Its aim is to facilitate access to public services of the various eu countries by citizens of any country in europe. Provide public services of this cross-border perspective allows us to move towards Digital single market, one of the major strategic challenges of the european Union.

In particular e-SENS will provide basic services to enable cross-border public services through the Internet, such as electronic identity, digital signatures, electronic exchange of documents, etc.

It will draw upon existing solutions in member states and in the previous european projects as e-CODEX (Opens in new window) (in the area of justice), epSOS (Opens in new window) (in the area of health), SPOCS (Opens in new window) (in the business environment), STORK (in the area of electronic identity) and PEPPOL (Opens in new window) (in the area of electronic contracting), with a view to making a consolidation of existing solutions and propose a Single infrastructure to be used by countries and the european commission.

Basic services proposed by eSENS will be implemented in different pilots in areas such as justice, health, starting a business or employment.

Participation of spain

Spain participates in the project through the ministry of finance and Public Service, the ministry of health, social services and equality and the ministry of justice.
