The European Commission introduced the new interoperability framework digital public services

The European Commission published today a new european Interoperability Framework that will help european public administrations to coordinate their efforts scanning the provision of public services.

The announcement was carried out eu Digital, in rome, together with other initiatives that aim to promote cooperation between member states to prepare better in society towards unleash the full potential of digital conversion. Many eu countries are introducing digital management in their public services to save time, reduce costs, increase transparency and improving their quality. Do this in a coordinated manner to ensure that the public sector is not only digital, but also regions.

The new European Interoperability framework (Opens in new window) it will assist member states to follow a common approach by putting all its public services; also available online communications and unify efforts between countries and Policy areas. This will help to reduce bureaucracy for people and companies to perform certain procedural requirements such as the request of certificates or delivery of the tax returns.

The Framework is made up of a set of updated 47 recommendations interoperability that can increase the interoperability. The application on the part of european public administrations will ensure that its services a normalization, streamline and automate, provide a safe in less time and less demanding. Also ensure that data to enhance the availability and quality education which enables a better analysis and decision-making. Those recommendations take into account different eu policies, such as Revised directive on the reuse of public sector information (Opens in new window) , INSPIRE Directive (Opens in new window) and Regulation eIDAS (Opens in new window) as well as new initiatives of the eu, such as the European Cloud Initiative (Opens in new window) , 2016-2020 Plan of action (Opens in new window) and accomplishments, as the Single Digital Portal (Opens in new window) .

In terms of its near future, it should be noted that the european commission direct and coordinate the implementation and follow-up of the framework, but with the support of the agenda ISA ² (Opens in new window) . In Addition, member states are expected to complete the actions of the eu, identified in the Plan of action of Interoperability, with national actions. The commission will assess the implementation of the European framework for Interoperability revised by the end of 2019.
