Spain launches epSOS centres 28 new pilots.

The project epSOS - Services for open and intelligent european patients launches 28 new pilot sites to offer medical record of the patient.

epSOS is currently the biggest european project in eSalud and interoperability co-financed by the european commission. Its aim is to improve the care of citizens when they are outside their country, allowing health professionals from any country to join epSOS access their medical data.

As a pilot epSOS services are accessible only for part of spanish citizens, and will only be provided to foreigners who come to pilot centres available.

With the new pilot sites in service posts in spain there are 42 pilot centres: 33 in the balearic islands and 9 in Valencia.
