In the new European Commission report " The state-of-play report on digital public administration and interoperability 2020", (Abre en nueva ventana) Spain is presented as an example of good practices in the implementation of the European Interoperability Framework (EIF). The most important success factors in promoting interoperability in the country are the continued effort to maintain momentum at the national level, the collective commitment of the different stakeholders and alignment with the EIF.

The analysis carried out in this report is based on the 2018 and 2019 Digital Government  factsheets, and on the 2020 Digital Public Administration factsheets, prepared by European Comission for each country. The latter include the results obtained in the EIF Monitoring Mechanism 2019,  which measures the implementation of the EIF by the Member States, and is based on a set of 68 KPIs clustered within the three pillars of the EIF: principles, layers and conceptual model of interoperability.

The graph below shows the results obtained by Spain in this new monitoring mechanism. It is possible to notice an overall good performance of the country, with particularly positive results within the ‘Conceptual Model’ and ‘Interoperability Layers’ scoreboards.
